The repellent spray is best applied before wearing your boots for the first time. Applying it to a clean, dry suede upper creates a protective layer that helps the material resist light moisture and surface marks from the outset. It can be reapplied periodically as part of an ongoing care routine, particularly after cleaning or if the boots have been exposed to wet conditions.

It is not recommended to use general household cleaners, detergents, or standard shoe sprays on sheepskin or suede. These materials respond best to products formulated specifically for them, as harsh cleaners can dry out or damage the suede surface and affect the sheepskin lining. Using the UGG-approved shampoo cleaner and repellent from the care kit helps maintain the material without causing unintended damage.

Brush the suede upper gently using short, even strokes in one direction to lift surface dust and restore the nap. The brush works best on a dry boot after each wear, before dust and dirt have a chance to settle into the material. Avoid scrubbing hard against the grain of the suede as this can flatten or damage the surface texture over time.
